Join The Adventure
We welcome you to Pack 106 and want you to join us in the Cub Scouting program. You will be involved in a year-long program that stresses Character Development, Citizenship, Physical and Mental fitness, AND we do all of the activities in a fun way while having adventures. Pack 106 has a strong emphasis on getting the boys outdoors through camping, hikes and community service. If you enjoy the outdoors and want your boy to learn more about nature, come join us at Pack 106.
With Cub Scouts your boy will join a den. Each den is made up of boys of similar age, most from the same school (usually Shafer or JRE). The dens make up Pack 106. The Pack meets once a month at JRE, the dens will meet 2-3 times per month to work on rank specific requirements.
One of the many benefits you will find in the Scouting program, is watching your boy grow in the program. Scouting promotes good traits that help the boys grow into solid citizens of the community. Your son will gain self-confidence, learn about service to community, and learn outdoor skills to name just a few.
At Pack 106, through the Cub Scout program the Boy Scouts of America provides youth with programs and activities that allow them to:

Parents’ Role in Cub Scouts
Steps to Join
Fill out an application for your Cub Scout.
If your Cub is a Tiger Cub, one parent must fill out an adult form.
If you are going to be a den leader or committee member you must fill out an adult form.
Our fee for new scouts is $130. Our fee for all following years is $100. Checks can be made payable to Pack 106.
The Cub Scout uniform is an important part of being involved in Pack 106. All Cubs and Adult leaders are expected to be in uniform. We have both a class A and Class B.
The Class A uniform is available to purchase at the main Boy Scout office in Houston. There is also an office in Stafford. Tell the staff at the store you are joining Cub Scout Pack 106 and they will be able to assist you with what you need.
Camping with Cub Scouts is a family event and does not involve backpacking. We have a camping 101 in September of every year. This will give you a better idea of what you will need.
The main items you will need are: a tent, sleeping bag, mess kit, overnight bag, cot or pad. As your cub becomes more interested in camping you can start to add to your equipment.

‘what can I give’ attitude.”
